SEPTEMBER update @ Scrapbook CAPITAL
Winter is over and Spring is here, well it's supposed to be. Time to spring clean and get out some of your old stash and get scrapping. A perfect opportunity to use up that old stock with the new competition here at Scrapbook CAPTIAL. Spring is also a great time to get snapping with your camera especially with the beautiful weather heading our way, well us Vic's can only hope. School holidays are nearly upon us once again, and I'm sure your all excited about that. Why not take the kids out and give them a camera and see what pictures they take. It's quiet amazing what kids see that we don't and sometimes how an ordinary item becomes such a centre point of discussion and beauty. Here is a challenge for you all. Get the kids to snap a few shots. Once they are done, flick through them and select 1 or 2 to scrap..... Ask them what they think of the picture and in your journalling, discuss the difference of opinion and vision you both have,,... A RAK will be awarded to each person that takes on this challenge. Happy Spring everybody and happy Scrapping...
Thanks to everybody that took the opportunity to save a bundle on the tax sale, I really appreciate your support. New items are always been added to the "BARGIN BOX" so make sure you pop in on some great bargins. Keep a look out for Paper Packs, great way to boost your stash and save money at the same time. Only a limit of these will be available. Pop in the shop and have a look. On a different note, I have to make an apology to our August Calendar Girl, Maria Aloisi aka J@zzii. Due to work commitments then a holiday, poor Maria didn't get her moment in the spot light, so better late than never. Sorry Maria. Here are things about Maria you may not have known:

Our NEW Competition DUSTING OUT THE COBWEBS was launched Wednesday. This competition was inspired by a few girls in the wee hours of a Sunday morning chatting over a Bailey's and flicking through some old albums. Techniques that haven't been seen for a while and we thought would be nice to freshen and bring forward in 2010. A new form of judging will take place as well. Over the past years, judging has been a very hard and sometimes heartbreaking decision not only for me but for others as well. I see so much heart and soul and effort placed by everybody and for me to make a call on what I feel deserves to win can sometimes feel onesided and disheartening for some. Some may say that this is an easy way out but I truely believe everybody that takes part is a deserving winner whether you have been scrapping for 5 years and have everything or have only just begun and buy as you go. So in saying that the winner of the competitions run for now until further notice will be drawn from a hat. Of course requirements are to be met, and once these requirements have been met and each round completed, your name will be added for your chance to win. So ladies, everybody has a chance to win so make sure you sign up and join in. Round 1 is all about stamps and ink, so pop in the competitions section of the forum for all the details.
The 3rd annual scrap cap retreat is coming fast. October 15-17 at the Best Western in Frankston by popular demand. The theme for the 2010 retreat is The 70's and we will be having "buckets of love". The price for the retreat is the same as last year and deposits are now required. So make sure you check the forum for all the details.
Monthly Sketch Competition is in the gallery for you to scrap and has been selected by Sammi. A chance to win a voucher if a minimum of 5 entries are received.
